Popular in the early 1900’s, Meisen kimono are now highly regarded for their unique and often spectacular designs. They are designed using the tie & resist ikat method. Often, they are used as artworks hanging on the wall. This particular kimono is a lightweight silk summer kimono, for a young girl or woman. It has been hand-sewn and is too delicate to wear, but would make a stunning wall piece.
